I’m writing this before putting up any posts, so welcome to a little flagstone on the road to hell 
I very much intend this blog to serve three key purposes:
- Firstly, it is a place for me to record those things that flit through my ‘information environment’ that I think are important.
- Secondly, by allowing me to summarise the key points or features of the things I blog about, it serves as an aide-memoir for me.
- Thirdly, by making that aide-memoir available to other people they will, I hope, be able to get a reasonable easy introduction into some of the issues that interest me (yes, I mean you, clients!), and also be able to stay up to date without having to put in all the leg-work.
I am not going to be writing reviews - when I report on new books or talks, my intention is to only summarise them, not to evaluate any claims made. That is what comments are for, and I hope there will be some lively debates. Having said that, I do intend to write some general pieces to set up discussions, which are likely to be more opinionated, but we’ll see how we go.
